Ryan Giggs relishing Arsenal test

Manchester United veteran Ryan Giggs disagrees with any notion that his side are underdogs ahead of their clash with league leaders Arsenal this weekend.

Ryan Giggs is adamant that Manchester United should not be considered underdogs for tomorrow's Premier League showdown with Arsenal, insisting that the Red Devils are confident of proving their title credentials with victory.

The Gunners travel to Old Trafford buoyed by back-to-back victories over Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund, topping the Premier League by five points after a fine start to the campaign.

Giggs thinks United are well aware that they need a strong performance after flattering to deceive against other traditional title rivals early in the campaign, but is confident of delivering just that.

He told The Mirror: "Manchester United against Arsenal at Old Trafford and we're underdogs? I wouldn't say we were underdogs. They've had a good week, beating Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund, so confidence is high in their camp.

"I take the point that Arsenal are probably the form team and it's going to be a tough game. You know what you're going to get. They're going to keep the ball, they've got plenty of quality and in good form.

"We've not started the season as well as we wanted to and Arsenal have, so we'll go into the game knowing we need a good performance. But at Old Trafford we're always confident that, no matter who we're playing, we can beat them."

United enter the clash on an eight-match unbeaten run in all competitions, but trail Arsenal by eight points in the table.
