Darren Fletcher pleased with Manchester United performance

Darren Fletcher says that he is happy with how Manchester United played against Swansea City at Old Trafford.

Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher has hailed his side's second-half performance against Swansea City in the Premier League on Saturday.

Antonio Valencia and Danny Welbeck scored for the Red Devils in the second period as they ran out 2-0 winners at Old Trafford.

"I think that we raised the tempo [in the] second half and that was the difference," he told Sky Sports News. "We know teams like Swansea like to keep the ball. A slight tactical change did it.

"Adnan Januzaj is a young lad who has been a revelation and going out to the left for us helped us because he ran at people and we wanted to get the ball to him as much as possible. We have a lot of players in midfield. You want to press but you can't sometimes.

"Ultimately if you want to win the game, you have to get up for the ball and that's what we did. We have to back it up but you need to win every game at Manchester United."

Fletcher added that he is happy with his display against the Swans.

"On a personal level I've worked hard to get back," he said. "Hopefully there is more to come for me. I'm happy where I am right now."

United are currently seventh in the league table with 37 points from 21 matches.
