David de Gea has admitted that facing Liverpool at Old Trafford would be the "perfect moment" for his return to Manchester United's starting lineup.
The goalkeeper has been left out of the squad for the first four games of the Premier League season while being linked with a move to Real Madrid, but has signed a four-year contract extension with the club after a deadline-day move fell through.
The Spaniard told the club's website: "I've trained really hard and I played with my national team, of course, so I feel ready and 100%. It's a perfect moment to come back at Old Trafford with the fans against Liverpool.
"It's a special game for us, for the fans, for the world. It's a big game and, of course, we need to win. We need three points for the fans. It was a fantastic game with a fantastic atmosphere [in last year's fixture].
"We won the game 3-0 at Old Trafford and it was a perfect day. Of course, it's a new season with new players and we are going to try to win everything with the team."
Louis van Gaal has hinted that De Gea will feature in tomorrow's match.
