David de Gea reportedly apologised to his Manchester United teammates during half time of Sunday's 1-1 draw with Chelsea after allegedly admitting to "fucking up".

The Spain international's terrible run of form continued at the weekend as he spilled Antonio Rudiger's shot for Marcos Alonso to cancel out Juan Mata's opener.

That is the latest in a growing list of high-profile errors made by De Gea over the past couple of months, having also cost his side against Arsenal, Manchester City and Barcelona.

According to The Sun, De Gea was quick to apologise to his teammates in the dressing room prior to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's half-time team talk.

A United spokesman is quoted as saying: "He held his hands up at half time and said sorry to the guys and said he had f**ked up. He could not believe he had done it and was absolutely gutted. He felt like he had let the whole team and Ole down.

"The boss told him to forget about it and focus on the second half which he did and made a couple of good saves. David was very down after the match and got dressed pretty quickly and quietly before leaving to go home."

De Gea remains locked in a contract dispute with United and is believed to have been offered a way out of the club by Paris Saint-Germain.
