Tom Cleverley is expected to make his England debut in a friendly against Italy next week after impressing for Great Britain in the Olympic Games.
There could be a youthful look to Roy Hodgson's squad for the friendly in Berne, Switzerland with the Premier League due to start just days later.
Cleverley is in line for a call-up alongside Team GB players Ryan Bertrand and Daniel Sturridge, according to The Guardian.
The Manchester United midfielder has been part of an England squad before, but did not make the team for European Championship qualifiers against Bulgaria and Wales.
Cleverley could be joined by Kyle Walker and Jack Rodwell, who both missed tournaments this summer through injury.
