Dan Burn: 'Manchester United play Conference football'

Fulham's Dan Burn likens Manchester United's style of play to that of a Conference team.

Fulham defender Dan Burn has admitted that Manchester United's style of play reminded him of his time in the Conference with Darlington.

The Red Devils attempted a record 81 crosses during the 2-2 draw at Old Trafford, which has drawn criticism from a number of pundits, who have accused manager David Moyes's tactics of being one dimensional.

Speaking after the match, 21-year-old Burn told reporters: "I was just saying to the lads that I've never headed that many balls since the Conference, but at the end of the day I'm happy for [United] to play like that.

"We knew that we were going to defend our box well. We were going to keep our back four quite narrow so that we were between the goal and the wingers were going to look after the wide men. We've been working on that in training and I thought it worked well.

"We knew that was going to happen. Once we were dropping further back, we were going to get more compact and make them play around us because we thought we had the strength in numbers. I'm 6'7" and it helps when dealing with them sort of balls."

Next up for Fulham is a home clash against Liverpool at Craven Cottage.
