David Beckham stunned by Manchester United's capture of Alexis Sanchez

David Beckham says that he still cannot believe that Manchester United signed Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal.

Former Manchester United star David Beckham has admitted that he cannot quite believe that the club managed to sign Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal.

The Chile international had long been widely expected to join Manchester City, but their neighbours swooped in to snatch a deal.

The 29-year-old finalised a move to Old Trafford last week in an arrangement that involved Henrikh Mkhitaryan joining Arsenal from United.

While speaking to The Mirror during the launch of his new MLS franchise in Miami, Beckham said: "I still find it hard to believe it's actually happened. It's amazing.

"A player of his stature and calibre has obviously come from a big club like Arsenal and then to move to a massive club like Manchester United, that for me makes me proud to be a Manchester United player because we want great players and exciting players.

"Its great to see him wear a United shirt and I'm sure he's going to be successful."

Sanchez made his debut in Friday night's FA Cup fourth-round victory over Yeovil Town, in which he nabbed an assist.
