Bayer Leverkusen chief Fernando Carro claims that his side will not block Kai Havertz from departing the BayArena this summer.

Bayer Leverkusen chief Fernando Carro has claimed that the Bundesliga outfit will allow Kai Havertz to move on at the end of the season should he wish to do so.

The 21-year-old has emerged as one of the most sought-after prospects in Europe following his performances in the Bundesliga this season, with Manchester United, Real Madrid and Chelsea all credited with an interest.

Havertz is rumoured to be favouring a move to the Spanish capital ahead of the 2020-21 campaign, and Carro has said that Leverkusen will not stand in the German's way if he chooses to advance his career elsewhere.

Speaking to German outlet Kolner Stadt-Anzeiger, Carro said: "At Kai Havertz I see that many clubs are interested in him. Kai has been with us for ten years. I see the player's desire to take the next step sometime in the near future.

"You have to try to find a solution where the player's goal can be reconciled with ours. At the moment nobody can say for sure what will happen."

Havertz, who is under contract at Leverkusen until the summer of 2022, has registered 11 goals and five assists in Germany's top flight this term.
