Eric Bailly is reportedly ahead of schedule in his recovery from a knee ligament injury and plans to return to action at Manchester United by November.

Eric Bailly has reportedly responded well to treatment on a knee ligament injury and will return to action for Manchester United ahead of schedule.

The Ivorian, who joined the club in 2016, underwent surgery after suffering an injury to his knee during a pre-season game with Tottenham Hotspur in July.

It was claimed soon after the incident that Bailly would most likely miss five months of action, meaning a return in December.

However, according to ESPN, Bailly is now targeting a return to first-team action by the conclusion of the November international break.

The 25-year-old, whose knee problems have prevented him from playing a competitive game since April, could return in time for the trip to Sheffield United on November 23.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will welcome the news having suffered a series of injury problems to start the season, with Luke Shaw, Paul Pogba, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Anthony Martial and Diogo Dalot all being sidelined at various points over the last month.
