Manchester United team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Manchester City

Sports Mole rounds up all of Manchester United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their Premier League clash with Manchester City.

Manchester United will be aiming to make it four straight wins in all competitions when they welcome Manchester City to Old Trafford in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The Red Devils have won their last two in the league against Brentford and Sheffield United, while they also recorded a 1-0 victory over Copenhagen in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Erik ten Hag's side have won five and lost four of their nine league matches this season, with a total of 15 points leaving them down in eighth position in the table.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Man United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with Man City, who are second in the table on 21 points.

Casemiro

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: October 29 (vs. Manchester City)

Casemiro missed out against Sheffield United last weekend due to a problem that he suffered on international duty with Brazil; he was then suspended against Copenhagen but has been back in training, so a return for the Manchester derby is likely but not guaranteed.

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: Unknown

Shaw suffered a muscular problem in the defeat to Tottenham Hotspur earlier this season, and the England international is not expected to be back on the field until the end of November.

Tyrell Malacia

Malacia is also still on the sidelines due to a knee injury which required an operation, but he has recently been pictured back in individual training and could return before the end of the year.

Martinez has undergone a second operation on a foot injury which he initially suffered in April, and he will therefore be out until the latter stages of the year.

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: October 29 (vs. Man City)

Mainoo has been out due to an ankle problem that he suffered during pre-season, but he has recently returned to training and has a slight chance of making the squad for this match.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka
