Manchester United interim head coach Ralf Rangnick says that Paul Pogba is likely to miss the remainder of the season with a calf injury.

Manchester United interim head coach Ralf Rangnick has said that Paul Pogba is likely to miss the remainder of the season with the calf problem that he picked up against Liverpool.

The France international had to be substituted in the 10th minute of the clash at Anfield due to a calf injury, and the issue is expected to keep him out for at least the next four weeks.

Pogba's contract with the 20-time English champions is set to expire at the end of June, and with a fresh agreement unlikely at this stage, the midfielder could have played his final game for the club.

"Paul, as it seems, with the scan we did the day before yesterday, it is very likely he will not play until the end of the season again," Rangnick told reporters.

"The doctor told me it will take four weeks minimum for him to recover and obviously the last game is the end of May. I don't think it is very likely he will be able to play again [this season]."

Pogba, who continues to be linked with the likes of Real Madrid, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain, has scored one goal and registered nine assists in 27 appearances for Man United this season.
