Manchester United team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Liverpool

Sports Mole rounds up all of Manchester United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash with Liverpool.

Manchester United will be looking to cement themselves as title challengers when they travel to Anfield to take on the champions Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.

The Red Devils recorded a 1-0 win over Burnley on Tuesday evening to move to the top of the Premier League table, three points clear of second-placed Liverpool on the same amount of games (17).

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side will be attempting to put a fourth straight league victory on the board this weekend, but they are winless in their last four meetings with the Merseyside giants.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with Jurgen Klopp's side, who have taken just two points from their last three matches.

Victor Lindelof

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Unspecified
Possible return date: January 17 (vs. Liverpool)

Solskjaer revealed after the FA clash with Watford on Saturday that Lindelof missed out against the Hornets through injury, although the issue was not specified. The Swede, who has struggled with a back problem this term, was also absent against Burnley on Tuesday but could be available for selection this weekend.

Anthony Martial

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: January 17 (vs. Liverpool)

Anthony Martial had to be replaced in the final stages of the clash against Burnley after appearing to suffer a hamstring problem. United have not provided an update on the France international, but there is now a chance that he could be unavailable for selection against Klopp's side.

Phil Jones

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Long-term absentee Phil Jones, who continues to be linked with a move away from Old Trafford, is still nursing a knee problem and will again not be available for selection here.

Marcos Rojo

Status: Out
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: Unknown

Marcos Rojo was again absent against Burnley due to a calf problem, and the Argentine, who has fallen out of favour at United, could have played his last game for the club.

MANCHESTER UNITED'S SUSPENSION LIST

United have no players suspended for this weekend's contest, with captain Harry Maguire avoiding a booking against Burnley which would have ruled him out of the trip to Anfield.
