SM Football Shorts: Who has benefited most from the break in the Premier League?

With the return of the Premier League now only one day away, Sports Mole looks at which clubs could have benefited most from the three-month stoppage.

The countdown to the return of the Premier League is now at just one day, with top-flight action finally resuming after a break of more than three months when Aston Villa host Sheffield United and Manchester City take on Arsenal on Wednesday night.

The first full gameweek of fixtures will then follow this weekend, and one of the most intriguing elements of the return will be how teams cope with the unique challenge presented to them.

Teams with previously packed treatment rooms will now have almost a full complement of players, while those who were struggling for form before lockdown have been given an unexpected chance to stop the rot.

On the flip side, teams who were enjoying a good run of form prior to play being suspended have seen that momentum halted and will hope to pick up where they left off.

Listen below as Sports Mole Editor Barney Corkhill and Football Editor Matt Law discuss which clubs could benefit most from the break, and which ones could be hindered by it.
