Roy Keane: 'Manchester United need two centre-backs'

Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane suggests that the team are still short in in defence following their Champions League defeat to PSV Eindhoven.

Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane has suggested that the team are still lacking quality in defence, following their Champions League defeat to PSV Eindhoven.

Louis van Gaal's side opened up their Champions League campaign with a 2-1 defeat to the Dutch champions on Tuesday evening, in a match marred by Luke Shaw sustaining a double leg fracture.

Keane has said that he was not convinced by the transfer business that United conducted over the summer.

"You are on about the money United have invested. I think going forward they will be fine," he told ITV Sport. "In midfield they are not too bad but I think they are crying out for a centre-half - definitely one, possibly two.

"It was a poor result and performance. They gave away bad goals and certainly had chances to get something from the game.

"Overall it was a disappointing night for United, with the bad injury. I still think United are all over the place."

United return to Premier League action at Southampton on Sunday.
