Wolfsburg play down Kevin De Bruyne talk

Wolfsburg boss Dieter Hecking denies that Kevin De Bruyne could leave the German outfit this summer.

Wolfsburg boss Dieter Hecking has played down suggestions that Kevin De Bruyne could leave the German outfit this season.

The Belgian international has scored 10 goals and registered 17 assists in 29 Bundesliga games this season, with his form drawing a host of interest from across Europe.

The attacker's agent recently claimed that Manchester City were interested in a summer move, but Hecking does not fear losing the former Chelsea midfielder.

"Bayern [Munich] can make an approach for De Bruyne if they want," Hecking told Bild. "But Kevin has the peace he needs to mature and continue his development here at Wolfsburg.

"I think that he realises it will be good for him to play Champions League football with Wolfsburg and to show that he can also deliver the goods at this level."

De Bruyne is contracted to Wolfsburg until 2019.
