Yaya Toure open to "new challenges"

Yaya Toure admits that he would be open to exploring "new challenges" in the future, regardless of what type of money he is offered.

Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has potentially opened the door to a move away from the club by hinting that a 'new challenge' could be on the horizon.

The 31-year-old has been tipped with a switch abroad in the summer, having reportedly grown frustrated by supporters' discontent at the Etihad Stadium this season.

Toure revealed earlier this week that, while he 'loves' playing for the Citizens, he has been left feeling hurt by criticism aimed in his direction in recent weeks.

"No amount of wages will make me stay at a club if I feel that I no longer belong there or if no challenge exists for me," the Ivorian is quoted as saying by the Daily Star.

"It would be unjust on my part. There comes a moment where numbers don't stop unjust on my part. There comes a moment where numbers don't stop us, it goes beyond that.

"For the future, I don't know more than you do, because I will always go where I am offered new challenges. That is in my nature. When things are not going well at a club, the key players take the fall."

Inter Milan manager Roberto Mancini has previously admitted that the Italian club would like to recruit Toure at the end of the campaign, although a hefty transfer fee could scupper a move.
