Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed that James Milner is poised to sign a new contract with the club.
The 28-year-old's current deal with the Premier League champions is set to run out in the summer.
Milner's future had been in doubt due to a lack of action, but with the England international featuring prominently in recent months, the midfielder appears to be settled on staying, and Pellegrini has indicated that an agreement may be reached soon.
He told reporters: "Milner, I hope that he will sign also. We will see, same as Joe [Hart], in the next days.
"I don't know how many days before we can have this as official news but I suppose that also he will sign and continue here because he also wants to stay."
Milner joined City for a fee in the region of £24m from Aston Villa in 2010.
