Roberto Mancini says that he is willing to discuss a new contract with Manchester City and insists that Mario Balotelli is "101%" staying at the club.

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has revealed that he is "open" to discussions over a new contract at the club.

Reports yesterday claimed that the Italian could be offered a £2m-a-year deal after his side were crowned Premier League champions on Sunday.

"I have not yet talked about the new contract, but I'm happy to work here," Mancini told La Gazzetta dello Sport. "There is the basis to open talks. Sheikh Mansour sent me a message of congratulations. He was happy."

The 47-year-old has also refuted reports suggesting that Mario Balotelli could be sold in a swap deal for AC Milan's Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

"Ibra is a great player but I don't think Milan want to sell him," Mancini added. "I reiterate - Balotelli will remain at Manchester 101%."

Meanwhile, the English champions are believed to be closing in on Arsenal striker Robin van Persie.
