Manchester City to listen to Gareth Barry offers

Gareth Barry will fight for his place despite being told that he can leave Manchester City this summer.

Gareth Barry has reportedly chosen to stay at Manchester City despite being told that he can leave the club this summer.

The 32-year-old is entering the final year of his contract at the Etihad Stadium and faces limited playing time due to the £30m arrival of Fernandinho.

A number of clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur, are believed to be chasing his signature but The Telegraph reports that the England international is willing to stay and fight for his place.

Barry joined the Citizens from Aston Villa for £12m in 2009.
