Manchester City have reportedly identified Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot as a potential January signing.
The Premier League champions failed to bring in a replacement for Yaya Toure during the summer window, and youngster Douglas Luiz has been denied a work permit to be able to feature in the top flight.
That has arguably left City short in the middle of the park, but according to reports in France and Spain, Pep Guardiola is considering a move for Rabiot.
The France international has less than a year remaining on his contract at Parc des Princes and as it stands, it appears that the 23-year-old will leave on a free transfer next summer.
Barcelona are currently the frontrunners to sign Rabiot, but City would also be regarded as an attractive option to the player, who once spent a period in the club's youth ranks.
PSG may be open to selling Rabiot midway through the campaign in order to boost their situation with Financial Fair Play.
