Kevin De Bruyne delivers a fresh update on his future at Manchester City amid reported interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia.

Kevin De Bruyne has confirmed that he did not hold talks with any other clubs about leaving Manchester City this summer.

The 33-year-old has now entered the final year of his contract at the Etihad Stadium and was the subject of much speculation in the early stages of the summer transfer window.

Clubs in the Saudi Pro League have been consistently linked with a move for De Bruyne, who admitted in June that he was "open to everything" and may find it difficult to turn down an "incredible" big-money contract offer from the Middle East.

However, De Bruyne will remain at Man City for the 2024-25 campaign which represents his 10th season as a Citizens player, making him the club's longest-serving player within Pep Guardiola's current first-team squad.

With the Saudi Arabian transfer window scheduled to close on September 2, De Bruyne has delivered a fresh update on his Man City future and has revealed whether a move to the Middle East was ever a genuine possibility this summer.

De Bruyne plays down Man City exit talk

"I haven't spoken to anyone, to be honest," the Belgium international told BBC Radio Manchester.

"There has been a lot of noises and news. I said in the summer I expect a quiet summer and that's actually what happened. I've been on holiday for four weeks, came back and started training. That was it. Nothing to tell.

"I've not been entertained by anybody or spoken to anybody."

De Bruyne added: "Once the season goes on, I'm sure there will be conversations to be had with City.

"I just want to feel good, play good football and this will come in the upcoming months. I don't really feel the rush for the moment."

De Bruyne "refreshed" and 'feeling good' after injury-hit 2023-24

De Bruyne was injured for the first six months of last season, but he made his presence felt once he returned, contributing with four goals and 10 assists in 18 Premier League games to help Man City win an unprecedented fourth title in a row.

The playmaker now feels "refreshed" and is keen to put last season's challenges behind him as he bids to help Guardiola and co compete for more silverware this term.

"Last year was up and down," said De Bruyne. "I always had the idea of, if the Euros went well physically and I had a rest after, I'll come back refreshed. We had a nice break and I feel good."

Since joining Man City from Wolfsburg for around £54m in 2015, De Bruyne has recorded 103 goals and 171 assists in 386 appearances across all competitions.

Widely regarded as one of the Premier League's greatest-ever midfielders, De Bruyne has won a total of 17 trophies with the Citizens, including six English top-flight titles and one Champions League.

De Bruyne has already chipped in with one goals and one assist in three Premier League games this season and the Belgian is now away on international duty ahead of UEFA Nations League fixtures with Israel and France.
