Manchester City's Yaya Toure: 'International career not over'

Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure vows to return to international football with the Ivory Coast next year.

Ivory Coast's Yaya Toure has dismissed suggestions that he has quit international football for good.

The Manchester City midfielder has not represented his country at his own request since the Africa Cup of Nations in February.

However, despite the fact that he opted to not be included for the upcoming World Cup qualifier against Liberia, the 32-year-old has insisted that he will return to play for the Elephants next year.

"I am not part of the squad list for the games against Liberia, but my heart is with them," he told the African confederation's official website.

"I think the next fixture after this will be in 2016, when the qualification for the 2017 African Nations Cup continues. In any case, I'll be ready."

Toure has been capped 100 times by the Ivorians, from which he has scored 19 goals.
