Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini refutes claims that defender Micah Richards will be out of action for four months by claiming that the 24-year-old faces just three to four weeks on the sidelines.

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has revealed that defender Micah Richards will be sidelined for up to a month.

Previous reports had claimed that the 24-year-old would be out of action for four months after suffering a knee injury during City's 1-0 win over Swansea City a fortnight ago.

Mancini has since quashed these claims by stating that Richards will be unavailable for selection for three to four weeks.

The defender has barely featured for the Premier League champions this season after suffering an injury following his stint with Team GB at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
