Manchester City defender Micah Richards confirms that he is expected to make his first appearance this season in a fortnight as he continues to recover from an ankle injury.

Manchester City defender Micah Richards has revealed that he expects to return to the field in two weeks' time.

The 24-year-old has been unavailable for selection for manager Roberto Mancini this season after picking up an ankle injury during his stint with Team GB at the London Olympic Games.

"It's probably going to take about two more weeks," said Richards. "I'm happy with the progress made so far because it was quite a bad one, but I can't wait to get back in among the squad."

Meanwhile, the Premier League champions are preparing to take on Fulham at Craven Cottage this weekend.
