Roberto Mancini to commit to new contract this week?

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini will reportedly put pen to paper on a new £5m-a-year contract following talks with the club's owners.

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini is reportedly expected to finalise a new big-money contract this week.

It emerged on Monday that the Italian boss was due to undergo talks with the club's Abu Dhabi owners over a contract extension.

Following a number of discussions, it is believed that the Premier League-winning coach has agreed to sign a deal worth £5m a year, according to Goal.com.

There were rumours that the 47-year-old was on his way out of the Etihad Stadium but City's title triumph dispelled suggestions that Sheik Mansour and chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak were keen on offloading the boss.

Reports have claimed that Mancini's new deal could be completed by Friday.
