Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson has withdrawn from the Brazil international squad.
The 28-year-old had been selected for the upcoming World Cup 2022 qualifying matches, where the team will face Chile and Bolivia to wrap up their group, but he will not be involved this time.
"The rest of the group arrives in Teresopolis this Tuesday, with the exception of goalkeeper Everson, summoned to replace fellow position Ederson. The Atletico-MG player joins the Brazilian team in Rio de Janeiro, on Wednesday," the Brazilian FA revealed.
The Premier League star had an illness, which is why the decision was made to swap him out, with the risk not being taken for him to be unavailable.
Brazil have already qualified for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar; however, they have the chance to win the group within the upcoming matches, as Argentina are still challenging them for the top spot.
Ederson joins several of his teammates that have pulled out from representing their country in this international break, with Gabriel Jesus, Kyle Walker and Kevin De Bruyne all set to rest.
