Manchester City 'to hand Bernardo Silva new six-year deal'

Manchester City want to offer a new six-year contract to Bernardo Silva, according to a report.

Manchester City are reportedly preparing to hand a new six-year contract to Bernardo Silva.

The Portugal international has been a revelation since joining City from Monaco in 2017, scoring 17 times and registering 19 assists in 91 appearances for the Premier League champions.

The 24-year-old still has over three years left to run on his deal at the Etihad Stadium, but according to The Sun, the Citizens are keen to offer Bernardo a pay hike to fight off interest from the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona.

The report has claimed that the attacker currently collects in the region of £100,000 a week, but could be offered double that amount in order to ensure that he rejects the likes of Madrid and Barca to stay in English football.

Bernardo has contributed eight goals and eight assists in 38 appearances for Pep Guardiola's side this season.
