A report claims that Kevin De Bruyne will miss Manchester City's next five games, as well as Belgium's important World Cup qualifiers, due to a hamstring injury.

Manchester City ace Kevin De Bruyne is to miss around four weeks of action through the injury sustained during the victory over Swansea City, according to a report.

The Belgium international has been arguably the Citizens' star player so far this term, playing a vital part in the club's perfect start to life under Pep Guardiola with 10 wins from 10 in all competitions.

Guardiola is now expected to be without De Bruyne for a month, however, after seeing the 25-year-old limp off the field late on in the 3-1 win against Swansea with a hamstring strain.

The Express claims that the midfielder underwent a scan on Sunday afternoon, with the damage sufficient to keep him out of City's games with Celtic in the Champions League and Tottenham Hotspur in a top-of-the-table clash next weekend.

De Bruyne will also sit out Belgium's World Cup qualifiers against Bosnia and Herzegovina and Gibraltar early next month, and is likely to still be out of action when City's fixtures with Everton, Southampton and Barcelona come around.

City, who saw their form dip last season when the former Chelsea ace spent two months on the sidelines with knee and ankle injuries, are also awaiting news on the injury suffered by Vincent Kompany last week.
