Manchester City team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Sevilla

Sports Mole rounds up all of Manchester City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Wednesday's UEFA Super Cup with Sevilla.

Manchester City will be bidding to secure their first trophy of the 2023-24 campaign when they take on Europa League winners Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday night.

Pep Guardiola's side lost to Arsenal in the Community Shield earlier this month, but they opened their Premier League campaign with a 3-0 success at Burnley on Friday night.

Man City qualified for the UEFA Super Cup courtesy of their Champions League success last season, and they will be aiming to overcome a Sevilla side who lost 2-1 to Valencia in their La Liga opener on Friday.

Kevin De Bruyne pulled up with a hamstring problem during the clash with Burnley on Friday, and Guardiola said after the match that the Belgian would be out "for a while".

Possible return date: August 19 (vs. Newcastle United)

John Stones missed out at Burnley due to a hip complaint, and the centre-back will again be absent for the UEFA Super Cup, but he could be back against Newcastle United.


Ruben Dias

Type of injury: Concussion
Possible return date: August 19 (vs. Newcastle United)

Dias was absent against Burnley due to a concussion, and due to the protocol, he will also be unavailable for the clash with Sevilla, but the Portugal international could return alongside Stones against Newcastle.
