How Manchester City could line up against Bournemouth

Sports Mole looks at how Manchester City could line up for Sunday's Premier League clash with Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.

Manchester City are aiming to continue their perfect Premier League record against Bournemouth when they travel to the Vitality Stadium to take on a home side buoyant from their 2-1 win at Aston Villa.

The Cherries will look back on their last home game as a case of two points dropped after Sheffield United scored an 88th-minute opening day leveller, but Eddie Howe's side know they are up against it as they look to improve on a run of just one league win at home since the end of January.

City have won all eight of their top-flight matches against these opponents, providing coach Pep Guardiola with six straight wins in this fixture.

The reigning champions could be particularly dangerous opponents this weekend after being denied victory against Tottenham Hotspur last week, when Gabriel Jesus's apparent late winner was ruled out by a VAR review.

Following an eight-day break, Manchester City have no new injury worries and are likely to field their strongest side at a stadium where they won 1-0 earlier this year.

Raheem Sterling, who will start in attack, has scored eight goals and provided two assists in seven league appearances against Bournemouth.

Behind him, Belgium's Kevin de Bruyne has created three assists in two Premier League games, and was a constant menace to Spurs on City's last outing.

Captain David Silva is expected to make his 400th appearance for the club in midfield, earning praise from Guardiola this week.
