Jose Mourinho feels that Real Madrid's attitude after going behind twice means that they deserved to beat Manchester City.

Jose Mourinho has insisted that Real Madrid "deserved" to beat Manchester City in tonight's enthralling 3-2 victory at the Santiago Bernebeu.

Mourinho said that Real's players, who twice went behind before two late goals gave them the win, impressed him with the attitude they showed.

"It is a good one because the DNA of my team is back," Mourinho said. "They proved to me that if they want to be top professionals and respect Real Madrid's history they can do it.

"I'm so happy with the attitude of the players. It is a big victory against a big team. That's football; we deserved to win. If I felt we didn't I would have more sympathy for [City]."

Real Madrid have won the Champions League more than any other side, with nine titles.
