Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge insists that the German club will be trying to beat Manchester City next month.

Bayern Munich will not ease off when they travel to face Manchester City in the Champions League next month, according to chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.

The German club have already qualified for the next round, while City require a victory to stand any chance of joining them in the final 16.

There have been some suggestions that Bayern may take the opportunity to rest some players for the match, but Rummenigge has insisted that his side will be looking for three points at the Etihad Stadium.

"We are still going to try and win in Manchester," said Rummenigge. "First of all, there are points for the five-year ranking at stake, and then there are 800,000 euros to the group winner.

"We are not going to give anything away."

Roberto Mancini's City lost 2-1 to Napoli yesterday evening.
