Malaga confirm Yossi Benayoun interest

Malaga general manager Vicente Casado declares the club's interest in former Chelsea midfielder Yossi Benayoun.

Malaga general manager Vicente Casado has revealed that the club are interested in signing former Chelsea midfielder Yossi Benayoun.

The 33-year-old, who confirmed his interest in a La Liga switch earlier this week, had been training with Queens Park Rangers, but failed to agree a permanent contract.

"We are in contact with some interesting players. One of them is Benayoun, but he's not already signed," Casado told La Opinion de Malaga.

"He is a non-EU player and if he comes, one of the other non-EU players, Weligton, [Roberto] Chen or [Pedro] Morales, should leave."

Benayoun has previously played in Spain for Racing Santander.
