Malaga director-general Vicente Casado insists that coach Manuel Pellegrini is "happy" at the club.

Malaga director-general Vicente Casado has insisted that Manuel Pellegrini does not want to step down as the club's coach at the end of the season.

Recent reports in Spain have linked the Chilean with the Manchester City hotseat, claiming that the former Real Madrid boss's agent met the Premier League outfit's sporting director Txiki Begiristain in Madrid on Monday.

"The only thing we know is that Manuel is happy at Malaga," Casado told AS. "And it is known that everyone appreciates him."

Pellegrini's current contract at Malaga runs until June 2015.
