Malaga through to last 16 despite defeat

Chapi's goal gives Cacereno a 1-0 win at Malaga but that is not enough for the Segunda División B side to progress to the Copa del Rey last 16.

Malaga have progressed to the Copa del Rey 16 despite losing 1-0 to Cacereno at home in the second leg of their Round of 32 tie.

The Spanish first division side had won the first leg 4-3 away, meaning that they go through on away goals rule.

Chapi broke the deadlock for the visitors in the first half when he found the target in the 37th minute.

Both sides had chances to score in the second half, but Malaga held on for a place in the next round.
