Mainz draw 1-1 with Wolfsburg at home in the Bundesliga, despite the visitors playing most of the game with 10 men.

Mainz and Wolfsburg have played out a goalless draw at the Coface Arena.

The home side took the lead after just five minutes when Niki Zimling latched on to Adam Szalai's pass to slot home from close range.

That advantage lasted for just 10 minutes as Wolfsburg restored parity through Naldo, who headed home Jan Polak's cross from the centre of the Mainz penalty box.

However, Wolfsburg were reduced to 10 men on the half-hour mark when Alexander Madlung was sent off for his challenge on Nicolai Muller.

The second half was less intense than the opening 45 minutes, with Szalai's effort on 64 minutes the first chance for either side after the break.

Four minutes later Wolfsburg's Diego saw his left-footed shot from outside the box saved by Christian Wetklo.
