Maxi Rodriguez insists that he is not leaving Liverpool amid rumours of a move back to his native Argentina.

Maxi Rodriguez has insisted that he is staying at Liverpool following rumours that he was on the verge of leaving the club.

The 31-year-old, who has 12 months left on his Anfield contract, had been linked with a move to Newell's Old Boys after he was spotted in his native Argentina.

However, he claims that no contact has been made between any of the parties.

"I do not know where these things come from," he told Ole. "I have one year left on my contract at Liverpool and did not talk to anybody."

Rodriguez joined Liverpool from Atletico Madrid in 2010.
