Report: Liverpool ponder move for Mario Suarez

Spanish international midfielder Mario Suarez could leave Fiorentina for Liverpool in January, according to reports.

Fiorentina midfielder Mario Suarez is being monitored by Liverpool, according to reports.

The 28-year-old was linked with a move to Anfield over the summer when he was still an Atletico Madrid player, but joined Fiorentina instead.

However, Suarez has found first-team opportunities hard to come by in Italy, and could be offered a way out of the club by Liverpool in January, reports Gazzetta dello Sport.

Suarez, who is a Spain international with three caps to his name, spent five years with Atletico, winning the Europa League and La Liga.

He has made just four appearances for Paulo Sousa's side this season, and has not featured in Serie A since September.
