Martin Montoya '100% leaving Barcelona in January'

Martin Montoya's agent insists that the defender will "100%" leave Barcelona when the transfer window reopens, with Liverpool believed to be leading the race.

Martin Montoya's agent has insisted that the defender will "100%" be leaving Barcelona in January.

The 23-year-old's only appearance for the Catalan giants this season came back in September and he is determined to leave Camp Nou to find regular football.

His representative Juan de Dios Carrasco has revealed that the Barcelona academy graduate has suitors across Europe and is now carefully weighing up his next move.

"Montoya will 100% leave Barcelona in the winter window," Dios Carrasco told reporters.

"Right now we just want to find the best club for Martin, so he can continue his progression. Germany, Italy and England all have clubs that are already pulling strings to sign him."

Liverpool have regularly been linked with Montoya over the past 18 months and may be in the market for a new right-back, with Glen Johnson, whose contract expires in the summer, reportedly poised to join Roma.
