Liverpool striker Danny Ings has reportedly emerged as a late transfer target for Cardiff City.
The 26-year-old's Anfield career has been blighted by injuries since joining from Burnley in 2015, limiting him to just 25 first-team appearances over three seasons.
Crystal Palace were thought to be leading the race for Ings's signature, but with interest apparently switching to Swansea City forward Jordan Ayew, the England man was expected to stay put.
However, The Sun has claimed that Cardiff, who are preparing a their return to Premier League action after last season's promotion from the Championship, have now stepped in with a late bid.
The report suggests that a permanent move is unlikely, with a loan switch thought to be a more plausible proposition.
Ings, capped once by the Three Lions, has scored four goals during his time on Merseyside.
