Liverpool are reportedly planning to step up their pursuit of Florian Neuhaus amid suggestions that Manchester City have joined the race for the Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder.
The 24-year-old was in impressive form for his Bundesliga club during the 2020-21 campaign, contributing eight goals and eight assists in 45 appearances in all competitions.
A recent report claimed that Liverpool would monitor Neuhaus's performances for Germany at Euro 2020 before deciding whether to press ahead with a move.
However, Man City are also said to be interested in the midfielder, who was an unused substitute in his national team's European Championship opener against France on June 15.
According to Sport1, Liverpool are preparing to step up their pursuit of Neuhaus, and the Reds are prepared to pay around €40m (£34m) to bring him to Anfield in the current market.
The German still has three years left to run on his current deal at Borussia-Park.
