Liverpool 'interested in Scottish youngster'

Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Hamilton Academical youngster Jamie Hamilton.

The 18-year-old, who has featured on 16 occasions for Hamilton during the 2019-20 campaign, has a contract with his Scottish club until June 2022.

The Accies are seemingly facing a fight to keep hold of the defender this summer, though, with the likes of Wolverhampton Wanderers also thought to be interested in his signature.

According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool are also weighing up a swoop for the centre-back, who has been capped at Under-16, Under-17 and Under-19 level by Scotland.

Hamilton underwent a trial with Brighton & Hove Albion earlier this year, while he has also previously been linked with Everton, Aston Villa, Burnley and Fulham.

Jurgen Klopp's side are also allegedly preparing to rival Manchester United for the signature of Valencia attacker Ferran Torres during this summer's transfer window.
