Liverpool are reportedly weighing up a January move to sign Nicolo Barella from Inter Milan.
The Reds spent the final days of the summer transfer window looking to add a midfielder to their squad following a number of injury issues.
While Liverpool signed Arthur on loan from Juventus on deadline day, they could be set to delve into the Serie A market once again to bolster their midfield when the transfer window opens in January.
According to the Liverpool Echo, the Reds are considering an approach to sign Barella, who will command a €70m (£60m) asking price.
Liverpool were previously linked with Barella in 2021, and speculation about a possible move has since continued, despite the 25-year-old having four years left on his current contract.
As well as showing an interest in Barella, Jurgen Klopp's side are also rumoured to have a verbal agreement in place to sign Jude Bellingham in the future.
