Liverpool could sign Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland before the end of the EFL transfer window, according to a report.

Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland could reportedly join Liverpool before the EFL transfer window closes on October 16.

The Premier League champions will be without their number one goalkeeper Alisson Becker against Everton through injury, and the club are said to have concerns over second-choice stopper Adrian, who shipped seven in the team's shock 7-2 loss to Aston Villa last time out.

According to The Mirror, Jurgen Klopp's side are weighing up a move for Butland, who could make his debut in next weekend's Merseyside derby with Everton if he joins the Reds.

The 27-year-old will be out of contract with the Potters next summer and has not been involved for the club during the 2020-21 campaign, having lost his position as number one under current boss Michael O'Neill.

Butland has played on 77 occasions in the Premier League, though, and earned the last of his nine caps for England back in 2018.

Alisson is expected to be on the sidelines for the next four to six weeks with the shoulder problem that he picked up during a training session.
