Liverpool will reportedly revive their attempts to offload Xherdan Shaqiri and Harry Wilson in January, having failed to sell them during the summer window.

Liverpool will reportedly attempt to sell midfield duo Xherdan Shaqiri and Harry Wilson when the transfer window reopens in January.

The Premier League champions were open to offers for both players during the recent summer window, but no interested parties were willing to meet their asking price.

Burnley and Celtic had been linked with Wilson before both ultimately pulled out of the race, while Shaqiri missed the recent EFL Cup defeat to Arsenal amid rumours that he was in advanced talks over a move away.

The Daily Star reports that Liverpool wanted permanent sales for both players and were not ready to consider loan bids, making a move either abroad or to an EFL club highly unlikely this summer.

Instead, the Reds will revive their attempts to sell the fringe pair during the January window, with manager Jurgen Klopp not considering either as a key member of his squad.

Neither Shaqiri or Wilson has featured in the Premier League for Liverpool so far this season, while the latter spent last term on loan at Bournemouth.
