Andy Carroll interests AC MIlan

Liverpool striker Andy Carroll has emerged as a shock target for AC Milan.

The 23-year-old has endured a largely torrid time at Anfield, but is starting to turn his luck around and scored against Sweden at Euro 2012.

Pier Silvio, son of Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi, has admitted his admiration for the former Newcastle United striker and says it was his goal at the European Championships that attracted his attention.

"As a future target I'd like Andy Carroll," said Berlusconi, quoted in The Sun.

"I must admit that for his body build, and after seeing his header in the Euros, I would like to have Carroll at Milan."

After the Rossoneri released several vastly experienced players such as Genaro Gattuso and Clarence Seedorf, Carroll would fit in with the new-look Milan.

"This is a new era for Milan," he added.

"We will continue to get younger while maintaining the culture. Milan still has its superstars."

Carroll joined the Reds from Newcastle United in January 2011 for a British record fee of £35m.
