Bookmakers 'slash odds on Brendan Rodgers sacking'

Bookmakers slash odds on Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers being sacked following a dismal run of form.

Bookmakers have slashed the odds on Liverpool sacking manager Brendan Rodgers following a poor run of results in November.

The Reds have failed to win since their 2-1 Capital One Cup victory over Swansea City in late October and have lost three consecutive Premier League games.

The Daily Express reports that bookmaker Sky Bet have now reduced the odds on Rodgers to be relieved of his duties to 4-1, making him joint favourite for the chop alongside Paul Lambert and Harry Redknapp.

Following a promising campaign last season, which the saw Merseysiders narrowly miss out on the Premier League title, Rodgers was as high as 50-1 to be the first top-flight manager to be sacked at the start of the campaign.

Former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez, who won the European Cup with the Reds in 2005, has been installed as favourite to succeed the beleaguered Northern Irishman should he leave Anfield.

Liverpool threw away a 2-1 lead to draw with Ludogorets Razgrad in Bulgaria on Wednesday.
