Liverpool defender Ben Davies could be set to leave the club without having played a single minute under Jurgen Klopp, according to a report.

Liverpool defender Ben Davies could reportedly be set to leave the club without having played a single minute under Jurgen Klopp.

The former Preston North End man was brought in during the last knockings of the January transfer window while Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Virgil van Dijk were recuperating from long-term injuries.

Ozan Kabak was also brought in on loan from Schalke 04, and while the Turkish defender pulled on the red shirt during his short stay, Davies is still waiting for his first taste of Liverpool action.

Furthermore, the Reds have secured the signature of Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig, while Rhys Williams and Nat Phillips are also ahead of Davies in the Anfield pecking order.

As a result, The Sun claims that Davies could be heading for the exit door this summer, and Sheffield United are hopeful of striking a loan deal for the 25-year-old.

Davies made 145 appearances for boyhood club Preston before leaving for Liverpool, where he was an unused substitute on eight occasions last season.
