Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani is on the verge of joining AC Milan, according to the club's vice-president Adriano Galliani.
The 27-year-old Italian international revealed on Monday that he was close to a move to the San Siro and Galliani has now confirmed that a deal is close.
"We've signed a player with great quality," said Galliani. "He's the right man for Milan.
"Our transfer market campaign has now come to a close."
Reports have suggested that Aquilani will join Milan on an initial loan deal and a permanent deal will be concluded if he makes 25 appearances in a red and black shirt.
The former AS Roma man is expected in Milan for a medical later this week.
