Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani is to spend the season on loan at AC Milan.
The 27-year-old has failed to hold down a regular place at Anfield since his £17m move from Roma in 2009, and played his football last season at Juventus.
"I want to pay tribute to the way Alberto has conducted himself during these discussions," Reds' director of football Damien Comolli told the club's official website.
"Throughout the entire process, his only desire has been to play football and he has put this ahead of any other considerations and at personal cost to himself.
"We wish him well for the season ahead," he added.
The deal includes the option for Milan to make the move permanent at the end of the season.
